Visualization Workshop

Today I had the pleasure of attending a visualization workshop with Stuart Young. The focus of the workshop was to learn practical drawing skills to become a better facilitator.

my attempt to make a mind map about facilitation at the end of the course. Significantly improvement!

We also practiced active listening in the form of drawing, and worked on visual recording skills.  Certainly some room for improvement in this arena, but it was fun!

My colleague’s attempt to draw “making tea” as I explained the procedure to him.
My attempt to draw a pot of flowers on a table, without looking, while a colleague describes. hmmmmmm . . .

My writing has even improved, if I can learn to slow down and focus on the height of the letters.  I am really excited about this particular improvement to my facilitation skills!

Keeping the center of the letters at 5 “nib widths” high and straight across the page.

I got some really great tips and new skills from the course. Here are the “aha” moments I had, and I hope to add these concepts to my facilitators toolbox!

Until the next iteration . . .

Jason
